Arguments can contaminate any relationship, but especially a marriage. If you and your partner find yourselves doing verbal battle on a regular basis, then you need to come to the realization that this isn’t healthy and will actually have a detrimental effect on your efforts to save the marriage. Arguments occur when frustration boils over, and frustration can boil over for any number of reasons. Some people grow up thinking conflict of this type is normal, and even healthy. Yes, getting things out in the open and clearing the air can be healthy - but if you have to get there via raised voices, personal insults and accusations then something is wrong. We all get frustrated from time to time, but there is no reason why we can’t communicate effectively and respectfully at all times.
It takes two to tango, and it takes two to argue. Stick to the following rules to make sure you are doing your best to communicate effectively and respectfully:-
-DO NOT raise your voice
-DO NOT make personal insults
-DO NOT point your finger or make accusations
-DO NOT swear
-DO NOT bring up irrelevant issues
Ideally, both of you will stick to these rules. Even if only one of you does though, it will make resolution a greater possibility. Make sure not to react to any negativity. If you can stay calm and express yourself in the right way, the chances are your partner will follow suit. Arguing contaminates relationships, communicating effectively contributes to them.

Ballroom dance has its origin from the Latin word ‘ball’ which means ‘to dance’. Earlier, this dance form was a privilege of the creme de la creme of the society and was performed amidst grand celebrations like social banquets, competitions and auspicious occasions. This form of dance has to be performed by a couple in a beautiful closed hold position. This dance embraces a history that goes back to the renaissance era which brought to knowledge the different forms of dances, one of which was the well known dance form cinq-pace as referred by Shakespeare himself for this dance is made of five steps.
Later on, in the 17th century this form of dancing was performed by King Louis XIV, which was known as the Minuet and originated from a peasant dance in Poitou. Even today, Minuet is a very popular technique of dancing and prevalent in many countries across the world. King Louis XIV also established an academy to promote this dance form, specifically the rule of five positions of feet. This era even witnessed the integration of ballet dancing with this dance & was practiced since then, till the end of the Victorian era.
Accompanying the Victorian era was a contemporary form of ballroom dancing that is popularly known as Waltz even today. England was the land where this form of pure music became very well known. It was this same period when numerous other ballroom dance kinds came into existence. This dance forms include the Mazurka, Schottische and Polka. As the 20th Century begun, Jazz and the Jive rocked the dance floors.
It also saw a reformation in the dance forms like waltz etc. This reformation was done to allow the couples to move independently. Salsa is the most popular style of dance, which has captured the hearts of the masses and the classes all over the world.
The other ballroom dance forms which are all over the places are the Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Swing and the Viennese. The international Latin dances include the Samba, the ChaChaCha, the Jive, Passo Doble etc. In the year 1924, ballroom dancing was in full swing and various different competitions started off. A Branch was also formed by the Imperial society of Dance Teachers. This initiative was implemented with the sole objective of standardizing the techniques of dancing.
There are a variety of ballroom dance forms, and every form has its own beauty, charm, technique, style and distinctiveness. At the same time, these forms even have special rhythms, tempos and techniques with similar qualities. Some of the night club dances like the Nightclub Two Step, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and Merengue are also placed in the ballroom category at times. In Brazil, Forro, Lambada, Pagoda etc are the most loved dance forms.
The attire for this dance type is usually a bow tie and tailcoats for males, while full gowns for females. This day the tail suit trend has been replace by shorter tuxedos, vests and other fashioned outfits for men. The Latin dances have different attire, as in women wear the short-skirted Latin apparels while men go for tight fitting trousers and shirts for the clarity and finesse of the body and leg movements.
At present, ballroom is not just a form of dance but is a way of life for numerous couples across the globe.

Bharatanatyam is a classical dance form that claims its source from Tamil Nadu, South India. Most of the sculptures in Hindu temples are based on Bharata Natyam dance postures known as karanas. In fact, it is the celestial female dancers or apsaras, who are depicted in many scriptures performing this heavenly dance, known on earth as Bharatanatyam. In the most essential sense, a Hindu deity is revered in royal opulence in his temple and offered a standard set of religious services called arotiks, among which are music and dance that are pleasing to the senses. Bharata Natyam as a dance form and carnatic music set to it are deeply grounded in the devotional mood, Bhakti. Bharata Natyam is said to be the embodiment of music in visual form and an offering of devotion.
Bharatanatyam is the manifestation of the ancient idea of the celebration of the eternal universe through the beauty of the material body.
The physical expressions express a poetic meaning known as Abinaya. It means that the emphasis is more on facial expressions than rhythmic movements. Abinaya is divided into four categories:
1. Angikabhinaya
2. Vachikabhinaya
3. Aharyabhinaya
4. Satvikabhinaya
Angikabhinaya : Expressing the meanings of lyrics through the body parts like Head, Hands, Legs etc.
Vachikabhinaya : Expressing the Story via a dance drama
Aharyabhinaya : Imitating the dresses, Jewellery, Make-up etc. in the dance.
Satvikabhinaya: Showing the devotional moods come under Satvikabhinaya.
Lord Shiva is said to be the embodiment of the 4 types of abinaya.
Kathak is a partly narrated dance form based on fast footwork (tatkar), spins (chakkar) and innovative use of the devotional moods in abhinaya. Today it’s more of a form that has been practiced in the past by historical narratives, by kathakas or ancient bards, temple performances and the bhakti movement.
Kathak is an important classical dance in the culture of India, and an increasingly world popular theater art form. The word Kathak comes from katha, which means “pastimes-telling”. ‘Katha kahey so kathak kahaye’, which means one who narrates a pastime through a dance form is a Kathak. Long ago, the performers of kathak known as Kathakars narrated stories in temples of North India. The movement of hands, body and facial expressions used by the Kathakars to enrich the narrative, has given birth to Kathak.
Accoring to history, the earliest reference of this art is found in the Mahabharata, the great epic poem spoken about five thousands years ago. At this early stage the art of Kathak was performed by a group of Brahmins in glorification of the lord.
Change in the Bhakti Era
During the period of fervent worship of Radha and Krishna, Kathak was used to narrate pastimes of these two eternal personalities. Popular performances included Sri Krishna’s exploits in the holy land of Vrindavan, and pastimes of Krishna’s mischiefs as a child.

Sunny Days Desk Lamp - Black Did not work for me and more expensive than a lightbox that did work - Sarah Schwartz - Chicago, IL
I bought this lightbox in 2001 because of the Sunbox name and because it was cheaper than the other Sunboxes. I used it at home and I noticed some difference, but I didn’t notice an enormous difference. Then I gave it to my grandmother since she wasn’t able to go outside for awhile, and somehow it got passed around the family. By the time that I wanted it back for my windowless office, the neck cover had broken, so they kept the old one and bought me a new one in fall 2009.
Previously, the lamp had only been at home, not in an office, so I didn’t worry how it looked to others. When the replacement arrived at my office, I realized that the lamp positioned like a desk lamp, as in the picture, would not be useful for treatment (explained below). Later in the fall/winter, I tried another, less expensive lightbox and found that it worked incredibly well, and I used it religiously from when I bought it in December until March and it made such a difference. The other lightbox was the Daylight which I found out about on the non-profit Center for Environmental Therapeutics website.
The small lighted area of this desk lamp seems less effective. I know that Sunbox website says that the size of the illuminated area does not matter, but the lamp didn’t have dramatic results for me and I wonder whether the treatment area is why. The Daylight has large treatment area, and it gave me lots of energy and good feelings.
It’s also awkward to use. The new lamp that I got just needs to be turned on, and possibly slid forward to be at the required distance from your eyes, but the new lamp is always positioned at the appropriate angle so that it is effective.
By contrast, this lamp has to be at 14″ from your eyes and angled so that the light comes from above, so it needs to be quite close to the edge of a desk, leaving little room to do work and I couldn’t use a laptop at the same time. When not using the lamp on a desk, though, you want the lamp at a distance because the base takes up so much room so you have room for your laptop, etc., so you have to move it back. Since it looks strange to others to have this lamp pointing outwards, you might also want to angle the neck down so that it looks normal, which eventually wears out the plastic cover for the neck (which broke on my first one.) Alternatively, you could keep the desk lamp positioned like a normal desk lamp and just lower your chair so that the light shines from above, but then you have to sit with your desk at shoulder level or something, and that also looks strange.
Summary of disadvantages: small treatment area, uses lots of desk space, ineffective if positioned as a desk lamp, looks odd if positioned as a light treatment lamp, takes time to adjust it from light treatment position to desk lamp position and eventually wears out plastic around the neck, more expensive.
Sunbox: 1005B The Sunny Days desk lamp from Sunbox is a 10,000 lux light box and desk lamp all in one package. Turn the light towards your face for light treatment 30 to 60 min per day. The rest of the day you have the power of 10,000 lux full spectrum light on your desktop.

Why Be Catholic? by Dr. Ray Guarendi I usually like to include a few excerpts from different talks, but this one was so good that I really wanted to share the whole thing with everyone. Dr. Guarendi gives a great commentary on Catholics vs. Protestants and which one is more likely to be correct. As he says in his talk, this isn’t to put down any member of a Protestant faith. This is just a commentary on the system that they are in. Maybe you have asked yourself this question before. With the thousands and thousands of Christian religions out there all claiming to have the truth, which one is right? Dr. Guarendi is someone who ventured away from the Catholic Church. He described himself as a New Atheist. While the old Atheists do not believe in GOD, the new Atheists say there is a GOD, but he thinks just like me. I think we all know a few people like this. Someone who believes that whatever their conscious tells them is OK, then GOD must think it is OK. This is very dangerous territory. As Dr. Guarendi ventured out, he started asking questions. Protestants believe that the bible is the only authority you need, and that you don’t need the church, the pope, bishops, etc. Protestants believe that the Holy Spirit guides them to the truth in their reading and interpreting of the bible. Well, if that is the case, how have we arrived at over 35000 Protestant religions who believe different things? Is the Holy Spirit confused? Some Protestants might answer that all the different …

When it comes to dance wear clothes; possibly the greatest invention of all is that of the leotard. Snug, firm fitting and completely flexible and extremely adaptable, they allow the body to breathe whilst showing off the natural curves of the dancers body as well as providing the foundation to any dance costume
Origin of the Leotard
The leotard was brainchild of the French acrobatic performer Jules Leotard in the later 1800s who was personified in that well known song “That Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze”. His invention originally called a maillot was designed with men in mind to fit the following criteria: -
They must be flexible and allow unrestricted movement
They must show off the acrobats physique
They must enable the body to breathe (an absolute must when performing acrobatics)
However, the leotard did not really take off for a number of years after his death, when it became more popular amongst circus performers before evolving into fashionable ladies swimwear around the 1920s.
Fast forward to today and the leotard can only be described as being truly multifunctional. From a fashion accessory to athletics, you not only see them being worn by ballet dancers and gymnasts, but by acrobats, figure skaters, fitness trainers, certain pop-stars and practitioners of Yoga, to name but a few.
They also form the basis of super-hero costumes for both children and adults as seen worn in comic books, films, certain special events and fancy dress parties. Rodney and Del-Boy Trotter of “Only Fools and Horses” fame, dressed as Batman and Robin, springs to mind
Types of Leotard
Leotards have also evolved throughout the last Century into numerous shapes, styles and colours, usually dependent on the type of use they are employed for. The most basic being the Tank leotard which is sleeveless and hugs the torso.
They can come with either long or short sleeves. Many dancers consider tank or short sleeved (Cap) leotards are more suited for practice sessions due to there simplicity, whereas the long sleeved are more suited to professional performances. Camisole leotards vary from Tank leotards due to the shoulder straps which also come in a variety of designs such as double strap and lattice back.
While predominantly still regarded as woman’s clothing, leotards are actually unisex costumes which have been adapted over the years. Based on the definition of a leotard being a close fitting one piece garment, a more recent type of leotard advertised exclusively for men, that is gaining notoriety is the Mankini
Composition of a Leotard
In the latter part of the twentieth Century, Leotards were mainly made from nylon for a shiny appearance or cotton for that Matt look and Spandex or Lycra. Others were made from Velour which is a knitted fabric with qualities similar to Spandex for ease of movement while providing a velvety look and feel.
More innovations were in the production of leotards adorned with rhinestones and other jewels which are set into the fabric by means of a heat treatment so that they glisten under the spotlights during performances

There are differences in the Ballroom and Latin styles of each dance, some are faster than others with different music and rhythms. With the Ballroom i.e. Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep, it has been known from the competition Dancesport field that with the arms raised the heart does get more of a workout than with the Latin dances. However with the faster speeds of Jive, Swing and Salsa can easily produce the same result.
Your lungs will get plenty of oxygen which makes the heart work easier, thus allowing you to enjoy longer dancing sessions. Quick breaths create a stronger heart and allowing the levels to rise (in between dances) and fall creates conditioning making the night of party ballroom dancing fulfilling without being tired and stopping prematurely before the party’s over. As we use muscles we never thought we had the body starts to tone and excess flab will dissipate with regular ballroom dancing classes and social ballroom and Latin events. And as we continue to use our bones and joints the body’s presence improves with more control of rise and fall in some dances (i.e. Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz) and lesser pain from arthritis which can occur at any age.
Our spine can become straighter with the constant introduction of correct posture. The expansion of the diaphragm can correct this with just more than a normal hand shake (firmness) ballroom dance frame. This can also help with the lengthening of the spine which introduces traction thus helping your internal organs to be in the right places. Your appearance, your balance, your walk and a sense of body presence will improve your outlook and others will notice the difference to the way your body is carried.
These added benefits lead to confidence in the things we do in our everyday lives, (you’ll even feel sexier, especially with the Latin dance like Salsa, Rumba and Cha Cha etc). Self-esteem may increase, if you’ve never been up in front of people before and once you’ve done it, the easier it gets, leading to a sense of wellbeing and a more forward outlook on life. With ballroom and latin dancing all of our senses are being used, taking the hand of another is just the first step, ballroom dance position, leading and following are also others that create therapeutic benefits of a hug without the intimacy. Perhaps everyone should take up ballroom and Latin dancing.
Many professionals i.e. lawyers, accountants, bankers, and company directors have all said that having a ballroom or latin dance lesson either group class or private is the only way their minds can be released from their work. Creating an out of work experience is almost the same as going on holidays. The mental release is extremely beneficial and healthy for the mind. Giving yourself a mental holiday at least two to three times a week is a must in this troubled and pressure cooked world we live in. There is more evidence supporting ballroom and latin dancing as a social must, by being in a social environment we feel more at ease and start to improve our ability to communicate in large crowds and conduct proper social etiquette.

We have so much amazing material surrounding us that we take its greatness for granted. Have you ever closely examined the steel buildings that are now our churches, schools, and fire departments? Because these gigantic steel girders blend into their surroundings, they are often overlooked.
We are surrounded by objects made out of metal every day. Automobiles, buildings, sculptures - all contain metal in some form. Metal fabrication is an essential part of each person’s life. Steel and iron are reliable and a lot more secure than wood.
This article is for those of you who may not be very familiar with metal. In this article we will show you how metal is formed as well as show you the steps it takes for fabrication.
To start with, what does metal fabrication involve?
In simple terms, converting metal shapes into a finished product is known as metal fabrication. Small metal mixing bowls and giant metal cement mixing machines must all be fabricated. Metal fabrication is a category that includes metal forming, cutting, bending, welding, and finishing.
What are the different types of metal fabrication?
The three basic categories of metal fabricating are structural, industrial, and commercial. The process of manufacturing bridging and building components is known as structural fabrication. The manufacturing of processing equipment and support equipment for industrial use falls under the definition of industrial fabrication. The major chunk of metal items bought by consumers is produced by commercial metal fabrication.
What are the steps that are followed when the metal is cut?
Metal may be cut in two ways. One way is when sharp blades are rubbed up on the metal. Sometimes, though, the metal is just completely cut out. The process of applying a large amount of pressure on a small area until the metal breaks or fractures is known as shearing. It is much like a giant pair of scissors, and the process is always the same. Removal of metal, however, can be done using varying methods including abrasives, electric arc, laser beams, or torches. These are all widely used processes for cutting metal. In the field of fabrication, abrasive wheels and cutting torches predominate because they are relatively easy to use and portable. Stationary equipment (e.g. water jet beds, plasma tables, and laser cutters) aren’t used as much, yet they give amazing results with precise tolerances.
In order to get the skills required for metal fabrication, where would you go?
Certified learning centers and on the job training are the two types of metal fabrication instruction that are most common. Either way, a person must possess sufficient knowledge of the necessary skills before they can obtain work in the fabrication industry. The skills of the metal working industry are maintained and promoted by several agencies including the American Welding Society, the American Institute of Steel Construction, and the American Petroleum Institute.
Like any other field, the initial stage of metal fabrication is design, the conception of an idea that will eventually lead to the finished product. When required, engineers will check that the materials used are of the strength that is needed. The fabrication facility orders materials after receiving the plans. Depending on your design plan, materials will be cut, shaped, and welded together to make the product. Workers inspect each product before it leaves the plant to make certain it has been properly made for its purpose.
Now you know all you need to know about metal working.
